Animal Touch Therapy and Recreation

The Children's Farm provides animal touch
therapy and recreation free of charge to
persons with disabilities.

Our barns are handicapped accessible and full
of educational displays.  Visitors not only see
and touch the animals, but learn about local
history and the family farm as it has been run
from the 1800's to the present.

Visitors get a chance to hold bunnies, look for
fresh eggs, pet sheep and touch other large
livestock.  The Farm is not a petting zoo where
a person is loose in an animal pen.  We bring
each animal out to the visitor in a way that is
very structured and safe.
We do not keep a large stock of animals.  All our therapy animals are
selected for their calm temperaments and trained to be comfortable
around wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, etc.  The average visit for a
person with disabilities is about an hour to an hour and a half.
Please Note- We are not a camp, horse riding facility or animal shelter.
Reservations are required. To keep our programs free for persons with
disabilities, a fee is requested of other groups.
